I know a lot of people can relate to this but do you know when you get so into a band it almost takes over your life? Yeah me too. Recently, I've been really into 5SOS (5 seconds of summer). If that name doesn't ring a bell just know they sang that song about underwear. Haha. Anyway this is what i mean by OBD (Obsessive Band Disorder). I am not trying to be rude or offend when I say that. Anyway getting too "obsessed" with a band is dangerous. Honestly, you see how many people lose everything from being too attached. Everything goes downhill. As well as up, but downhill is a problem right? I have conquered this (sort off) despite how dorky 5SOS are and how fantastic their music is:
- think about your future- will that band help you get there?
- not to be mean but they have no idea who you are (sometimes), this will really help you focus
- school doesn't last forever and you won't get the same opportunities again
- they'll be waiting for you when you've done some work
Nicely, this links to procrastinating. *gasp* That's right worse diversion that causes failed grades and sad children (as well as lack of studying..) When you get a large work load, it gets hard to want to do it (trust me i know) but there are ways to overcome this
- will procrastinating finish your work?
- think of the free time you'l have without worrying about whether you'll finish or not
- when procrastinating, make sure it is at least relevant to school.
Finally before i go, we need to talk about FAKE FANS. I read a comment on YouTube that made me sad and angry. It was people complaining that newer fans are fake and ruining the boys(this was 5SOS). I haven't been with the band for their 4 years. Only 1. But I'm pretty sure I'm a real fan. Does it really matter when you came and found them? No, it doesn't. What matters is that why you like them and helping them (and yourself) get further in life. Technically without us "FAKE FANS" 5SOS could still be a hidden band. So no, comment, you are 100% incorrect. We also can't change them. Is it our fault they are getting more and more famous by the second (pun intended)? Is it our fault if they can't handle it? The answer to both is no. They are not your little secret anymore and stop pretending. The fans should be grateful that more people are appreciating them rather than something else. We are a family right? So if you hear anyone tell you this. Tell them what I said, hit them with the painful, cold truth.
Sorry for the harsh "rant" at the end. But I feel as though the world is small yet big, so not everyone is going to get an opportunity, not everyone is going to find a band early, but who cares? Didn't you want them to get far.
I hate breaking promises so I won't promise I'll be once a week frequnt but I will promise I will try my best to keep you all updated.
Love you all.
